Quick Dinner Idea
You’re home late, and need to be out the door in 50 minutes for a parent –teacher conference. The kids are hungry and the hamburger is a frozen hunk.
This problem is history thanks to a tip from lunchinabox.net. Put your fresh ground beef in a freezer bag and roll it flat before freezing it. You don’t get messy, since it’s in the bag. Take a chopstick or ruler to divide the bag in thirds each way, making nine portions. Freeze it, and the next time you need ground beef, you can easily break off the number of portions needed, and they defrost easily, since they are so thin. You avoid the hotspots and health dangers from defrosting in the microwave.
